Every company has a different and unique workflow that the productivity of their business depends on. For most companies though, their communication strategy is often a mix of different communication methods. From real-time messaging to group calls, companies of all verticals have been able to use Lua to fit their communication needs and improve internal workflows. That is why we are excited to announce that there is now another way for you to reach your co-workers within Lua.
Introducing: Audio Messages
If everyone from your company left each other voicemails it would disrupt the productivity of individual workers as badly as their dreaded email inboxes. That is because leaving and retrieving voicemails can be a process, and often cause a disruptive game of phone tag. If the modern employee wants to speak with a coworker about something that is best explained in person or over the phone, they are left with a few options. You can call back later, leave a voicemail that may never get heard, or send them a text message letting them know you need to talk. Well now with Lua there is a more efficient, productive option: just send them an Audio Message within the Lua app.
How do they work?
Audio Messages have an obvious benefit, they allow for an employee to explain something in a more direct way: whether they need to because the topic is better explained in person, or that they believe their tone is critical to understanding the message. With Audio Messages Lua users can now create and send any length audio message straight within a Lua message thread to individuals or groups. Want to learn how simple it is? Let’s take a look at how it will work from your end.
First choose the individual (or group) you need to send the audio message to. Once within that message thread, click on the attachments paperclip and select "Audio Messages".
Next, press and hold the microphone icon to record. When you’re done, just let go.
Once you're done recording, choose either to send the audio message or cancel it. If you cancel it and want to re-record a new audio message, just repeat the steps above.
Once your message is sent it will be visible within the conversation thread just like any other message or attachment.
Finally, all of your audio messages can be found (and replayed) from your Attachments tab, in attachment type “Audio Messages”. The name of the file will show the length of the message and the date it was sent.
Unlike the iMessage version of audio messages, a Lua audio message won’t disappear on you after you’ve listened to it. By clicking on Lua’s Attachments tab you can retrieve any of the audio messages you’ve ever sent or received, without any interruption to your workflow. They will also remain within the conversation you sent them to just like any other message or attachment that you send.
Who can listen to my audio message?
The only people that will be able to listen to your audio message will be the individuals that you chose to send it to, whether that be one person or an entire group. They are also the only people that will have access to it in their Attachments tab.
Can I re-record an audio message?
Yes. If you need to re-record an audio message, just cancel it by clicking the “x” button after you’ve recorded it, and before you send it. After you cancel the first message, you can easily record it again by following the steps to create an audio message again.
Will I be able to listen to an audio message more than once?
Yes. You can listen to an audio message as many times as you need. If you need to find an older audio message you can either find it in the thread you received it in, or in your Attachments tab. The name of the file will show the length of the message and the date it was sent.
Do individual audio messages have a time limit?
No, they can be as long as you want.
