For most of your day, you're probably connected to your office and friends through a mobile app, email, desktop communication service, or other such platform. Without select privacy, however, it's easy to lose focus on your responsibilities when you're constantly trying to escape from them.
That's why we're happy to announce that our newest product update: Do Not Disturb (DND) mode is now available! The feature allows you to remove yourself from the office during your down-time, while maintaining a distant connection to your job by receiving messages without the push notifications. With DND, you can see who's available and who's not, letting you know the appropriate person to contact at any time.
Simply access the feature through Lua's main network page, and you can provide an optional response to send to colleagues who message you during your unavailability. As a manager, you also have access through the Admin Console, where you can bring employees back from unavailability for urgent messages. This allows management to use the messaging app under complete transparency.
Some of the feature highlights include:
- Simple Status Control: Change your availability by simply flipping a toggle. Push notifications and sounds are muted across all your networks.
- Stay in Touch as Needed: Even in DND mode, you have access to your messages. Others in the conversation are not shown your active status to maintain your “offline” mode.
- Monitor Who is Available: The Lua directory reflects anyone in DND mode across all of your networks, showing you everyone who is available at that moment.
The DND feature is available across all mobile devices, Lua’s web version, and desktop operating systems including Windows, Mac, and Linux.
How do I turn on Do Not Disturb Mode?
Tap on your Settings, which is on the top left of your phone or top right on the desktop. From this menu, simply toggle the Do No Disturb switch on and set a reason, i.e. “Out of Office”.
What if I read a message, will the person or group know I read it?
Yes the ReadReport will show the message as read, but your status will not be active.
Can I message someone who is in DND?
Yes, you can still message users in DND, but the expectation is that they are not available to respond.
If I am in DND do I still get messages?
Yes, you will still get messages and message badges inside of the Lua application. You will not get push notifications or sound alerts for new messages. The badge icon for Lua will still display the unread message count.
What if I forget to turn off my DND?
You will always know you are in DND mode. In each conversation you will be displayed as DND. Also in the People tab you will be shown as DND. Administrators can also override DND and set all statuses back to available.
