No one sits still anymore. Employees are constantly on the move, and top managers know that their staff can be extremely productive if given the right tools to work on the go. The same managers are also aware that mobile devices, especially the use of personal devices, introduce a whole slew of information security risks. That’s why organizations everywhere are deploying enterprise mobility management (EMM) suites to secure and manage their growing network of mobile devices.
We’ve always noted how EMM and mobile messaging are perfect complements - combined, these two services address all the aspects of a complete mobility strategy. On one hand, the secure messaging that Lua powers allows employees to stay connected and communicate from anywhere. On the other, comprehensive EMM suites ensure that content stays secure on employees devices, and that employees have the latest contact information, calendars, and emails all on hand. Combining the communication, security, and productivity aspects all together puts everything that an employee needs in the palm of her hand, wherever she is.
We’ve written extensively about the spread of EMM suites in our EMM 101 whitepaper. The EMM landscape used to be a fragmented one with hundreds of vendors, but recently through growth and consolidation a few have emerged as leaders. Citrix stands out as one of the most established and recognized providers with XenMobile.
That’s why we’re delighted to announce that organizations can now easily deploy and manage Lua through XenMobile. Administrators can make Lua available to all their employees through their in-house XenMobile Worx Store. They can also control many settings within Lua, such as the app's interaction with device features such as the camera, or with other apps on the phone. All this ensures that IT can rest easy knowing that company information is kept secure, while empowering their staff to communicate quickly and effectively with the right coworkers, from anywhere.

This isn’t the only thing that Lua has worked with Citrix together on, and it certainly won’t be the last! We have always enjoyed an extremely close partnership with Citrix - early this year, we announced an advanced integration with Citrix ShareFile to allow users to attach files from ShareFile to Lua messages and discuss them from anywhere. And, as a Citrix-Ready partner, Lua is honored to be selected for the Mobility Pavilion in this year’s Citrix Synergy conference in Orlando.

Which platforms support XenMobile Worx?
Lua is currently available through XenMobile on iOS, and is slated to be available on Android soon.
How can administrators deploy Lua through XenMobile Worx?
Enterprise administrators manage the organization’s apps through the XenMobile Console. Within this Console, the administrator chooses to make Lua available to employees, and sets app policies around Lua.
The individual employee downloads the Citrix WorxHome app to install enterprise-approved apps within their device. They authenticate their organization’s credentials, and log into their own Worx account, through which they can download the XenMobile-managed Lua app.
What Lua features are modified when managed through XenMobile?
By managing Lua through XenMobile, Admins can pick from a wide range of features to control/restrict within Lua. This includes device features such as access to the camera. This also includes the ability to share files from Lua to other apps, and the specific apps to which Lua can share files.
